Job Duties:
• Maintain sales volume and customer relations; manage new products and customers.
• Determine merchandise and services to be sold and implement price policies.
• Manage accounts receivable aging and credit risks.
• Manage inventory including inventory turns, slow moving, defective and obsolete stock.
• Monitor all costs and expenditures; operate under Head Office procedures.
• Conduct regular sales and product training meetings.
• Responsible to achieve and maintain within the branch, error-free performance as the
standard of quality service.
• Ensure that all personnel understand the company mission and objectives and work towards
that common goal.
• Ensure that all employees have the right tools, information and knowledge in order to work
effectively, serve our customers and uphold the company objectives.
• Develop a working understanding of the company’s customers and suppliers through
telephone calls, meetings and industry events. Ensure that all reasonable client requests
are met diligently.
• Ensure that all branch employees work in a safe environment and that every necessary
precaution is taken to uphold that aim. All personnel must understand safe working
practices and also know the necessary procedure to take if accidents do occur.
• Ensure that all branch personnel understand the overall company objectives as well as their
individual departmental objectives and that they work together to achieve the stated
objectives. Be available to help resolve conflicting objectives. Reinforce continuously
respectful communication between all departments.
• Prepare appropriate annual, monthly and weekly plans and ensure that each person
understands how he or she fits into those plans. Set reasonable goals with deadlines for
completion and monitor the compliance with such plans and achievement of such deadlines.
• Set an example by following all company procedures and policies.
• Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and
applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees;
planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining
employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Requirements
• Minimum of five years relevant sales experience. Or, an acceptable combination of an
undergraduate degree in business administration or equivalent with experience.
• Ability to prioritize work and ability to be flexible.
• Electrical distribution industry experience an asset.
• S.X. Enterprise knowledge and proven proficiency with Microsoft Office products including
Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• The ability to read, understand and prepare a budget. Ability to read and understand basic
financial statements and reports.
• The ability to delegate, set expectations and monitor progress of all direct reports.
• Motivate, inspire, provide and accept feedback to and from employees.
• The prioritization skills necessary to use time effectively and set action plans to achieve
business targets.
• Responsible for subordinates’ activities, makes self available to staff, provides regular
performance feedback, develops subordinates’ skills and encourages growth.
• Possess strong relationship building skills to cultivate and develop customer loyalty.
